I’m currently managing a project in Glodwick on behalf of Oldham Council’s Arts Development Team. It celebrates the kind things that people do and seeks to inspire others to get involved.

Children at Greenhill Primary School wanted to make their local area a nicer place for fellow pupils. They have been learning about flowers and minibeasts in order to understand that helping things grow can also benefit the environment. The Eco Team are working with sculptor Ruth Moilliet to create colourful, metal blooms and Year Six pupils are creating giant insects with willow weaver Cherry Chung.

Mums at the Chai Women social group have written and recorded a rap music video which you can view here. Please show your support by liking it on facebook, or leaving a comment on Youtube.

Elsewhere Glodwick Cubs are learning to help birds by developing specially designed houses and feeders which they hope to install in the local area. They’ve had amazing assistance from artist Richard Dawson and Geoff De Boer at the RSPB nature reserve, Dovestone.

Thanks everyone for being kind!
